Engineers from Scotia Gas Network (SGN) will be working round the clock to reconnect 3,500 homes in Clackmannanshire currently without gas supplies after a farmer sliced through gas mains at Fishcross, causing a major gas leak.

The leak on the gas main has been secured and work has now started to repair the damaged section of the pipe. Supplies have been disconnected in the Dollar, Tillicoultry and Fishcross areas.

SGN said it hoped to have supplies restored over the next couple of days.
