Severn Trent imports Brazilian bacteria to treat wastewater

Severn Trent has imported a type of bacteria from Brazil that - coming from a warm climate - multiplies faster and more efficiently thus resulting in up to 80 per cent ammonia reduction in wastewater treatment. The company is looking to supply its bacteria when they are fully mature to other water companies interested in the process
