Severn Trent has partnered with a social mobility charity to offer students an insight into work.
The water supplier will organise a special week-long employability programme for 10 sixth-form and university students alongside social mobility charity Team Up.
The Severn Trent Employer Pathway programme takes place at Severn Trent’s Coventry headquarters and at Draycote Water near Rugby and will offer the opportunity for the students to meet and gain insight from senior members of the leadership team.
Severn Trent’s Adam Stevens said: “We want to give the students an introduction to Severn Trent and to all that we do, especially as they might not otherwise think about us as a potential future career path.
“Alongside that, we’ll also be providing coaching and working sessions on a range of skills, including a Dragon’s Den-style challenge that will concentrate on very real issues within the water industry.”
Students applied from colleges and universities including Aston University, Coventry University and North Warwickshire and Hinkley College.
