Severn Trent sells metering arm

Severn Trent has sold its meter services business to infrastructure maintenance company Enterprise Plc.

Severn Trent Metering Services carried out meter installations, meter maintenance and battery exchange for domestic and commercial Severn Trent Water customers.

Enterprise, which already undertakes network repair and maintenance contracts for Severn Trent Water, will take over the contract to install meters.

A Severn Trent spokesperson said: “Severn Trent Plc’s decision to sell the metering business has been made in response to changes in the UK market, with water companies increasingly looking for meter installation and repair and maintenance as a single package.”
