Production of shale gas could triple over the next 20 years if industry and government can address public acceptance issues. That's the view of the International Energy Agency

In a report published today the IEA sets out ‘golden rules’ it believes could lead to global shale gas production tripling between 2010 and 2035 to 1.6 trillion cubic metres.
