Water retailer Source for Business has won a contract worth £2 million to supply retail services to private healthcare company BMI Healthcare, following a competitive tender process.

The contract is to provide water and wastewater services to all 59 sites belonging to BMI Healthcare – the largest operator of private hospitals and treatment centres in the UK.

Source for Business director Richard Stanbrook said: “We are very pleased to be awarded the water retail contract with the prestigious BMI Healthcare, the UK’s largest private hospital group. We are working with BMI to help them reduce their water consumption and save costs.

“We have a strong track record of working in partnership with national healthcare providers to provide them with a single point of contact which keeps things as simple as possible so that they can focus on what they do best – caring for patients.”

Since 1 April 2017, businesses and other non-household customers in England have been able to choose which retailer they buy water and wastewater services from. Wholesale services, providing water to premises and taking wastewater away, are unaffected, but business customers can choose who provides their retail service.

Source for Business operates as the national trading brand of Pennon Water Services – an 80:20 joint venture between Pennon Group and South Staffordshire.

The company serves more than 160,000 customer accounts nationwide. It is one of only four associated retailers to have achieved net growth in the new, competitive non-household market.
