Water retailer Source for Business has been awarded a £4.5 million contract with Unite Students to provide services to its student accommodation sites across the UK.
The news follows the company’s £2 million contract win with BMI Healthcare, which was announced earlier this month.
Unite Students is the UK’s largest manager and developer of purpose-built student accommodation. It provides accommodation to around 50,000 students in more than 140 properties across 28 university cities in England and Scotland.
Source for Business, part of Pennon Water Services, will be providing water and wastewater retail services including billing, meter reading and advice on reducing water consumption and costs as part of the new deal.
Richard Stanbrook, director of Source for Business, said: “We are very pleased to win this contract with Unite Students, a high-quality and ambitious company focused on providing students with excellent accommodation. We work in partnership with our customers and pride ourselves on delivering exemplary customer service.
“With our track record and expertise in helping customers better understand how they can use water more efficiently, we look forward to helping Unite to save both time and money.”
Source for Business, which was awarded the contract following a competitive tender process, said it is working with Unite Students on “innovative ways” of reducing water consumption across its sites, including using the “latest technology” to communicate with students about their water usage.
The tender process was managed by energy consultants Ignite Energy.
Source for Business operates as the national trading brand of Pennon Water Services – an 80:20 joint venture between Pennon Group and South Staffordshire.
