South East Water has completed a £2 million service reservoir to store treated drinking water for Maidstone, Larkfield and Aylesford.
The tank, in Hermitage Land, can store 10 megalitres of water, doubling capacity at the site. Construction finished in May 2012 and landscaping has been added to make the reservoir blend in with its surroundings.
Joe Yip, delivery manager at South East Water, said: “It is fantastic that this new service reservoir has been completed.
“The building of this reservoir was essential to ensure we can continue to supply clean, safe running water to the Aylesford, Maidstone and Larkfield areas as the population continues to grow.”
