Scottish Power has announced two key appointments to its senior leadership team, with a new chief executive taking the helm at its energy networks business.
After three decades working across Scottish Power and the Iberdrola Group, Vicky Kelsall has decided to retire as chief executive of SP Energy Networks (SPEN).
Kelsall has held roles within the group’s North American businesses PacifiCorp and Avangrid. She was appointed CEO of SPEN in 2022.
Taking over as chief executive is Nicola Connelly who has held various senior roles across Scottish Power since joining in 1995. She was previously finance director of SPEN and was appointed control & administration director of Scottish Power in July 2021.
Meanwhile Charles Langan has become Scottish Power’s new chief financial officer, having previously held senior finance roles in the UK and Spain, notably managing the Iberdrola Group’s fixed income investor relations and most recently as Scottish Power’s finance and resources director.
Keith Anderson, Scottish Power’s chief executive, said: “Charles and Nicola are both highly experienced, dedicated leaders and their appointments reflect their proven track records of strategic vision, strong leadership and consistent delivery.
“With a £12 billion investment plan and a huge pipeline of projects across our business to be delivered, their commitment to excellence and driving value will be invaluable to Scottish Power and SP Energy Networks.
“I’d like to thank Vicky for her accomplishments, dedication and commitment to the company, and it is with great respect that I wish her a happy and well-deserved retirement.”
