SSE has become the first company to be fined for failing to publish inside information, in a timely manner, about the availability of its generation capacity. Under the Regulation on Wholesale Energy Market Integrity and Transparency (REMIT), market participants must publish inside information, information likely to “significantly affect” the price of wholesale energy, in an “effective and timely” manner.
