Emergency engineers from Northern Gas Networks attended the scene of a fatality in a suspected gas explosion at a house in Haxby, North Yorkshire at 7.30 this morning.
A spokesperson for the company said the cause of the incident is not yet known but NGN is working alongside the police and fire service to determine what happened.
It has been reported that one man, aged 63, has died . Two others are believed to have been injured in the incident, which levelled the house, blew out neighbouring windows, smashed roofs and knocked down garages.
Debris from the blast was found more than 400 metres away from the site.
