Thames lifts hosepipe ban

Thames Water has ended the hosepipe ban it imposed in the summer after four months. The company said water demand reduced, which, coupled with heavier rainfall during the autumn, has brought reservoir levels closer to a normal level for the time of year. However, chief executive Sarah Bentley cautioned that the region is "not out of the woods yet" and urged careful consumption.
