Thames Water has joined forces with disability charity Sense to reach more customers eligible for the priority services register (PSR) and raise awareness of support offered.
The company will use Sense’s network to reach out to the estimated 3,000 people with complex disabilities living in Thames’ region who could benefit from PSR.
Sense will inform the community it works with in London and Thames Valley about what additional help people can receive from their water company during supply interruptions to encourage people to register for additional support.
Warren Buckley, retail director at Thames, said: “Working with Sense means we can raise awareness of the priority services register and its benefits to families and individuals that might need more help in the way we communicate with them or if there is an issue with their water supply. I’m incredibly proud of this partnership, which will help more customers and families of customers who have complex needs.”
Last year the company began working with groups to assist elderly and visually impaired customers as well as launching an app to support deaf customers.
Thames has signed more than 278,000 customers up to its PSR and aims to have 410,000 on the register by 2025.
