Thames reveals £1.1bn plan to upgrade 250 treatment sites

Thames Water has set out its biggest investment plans for tackling problems across its wastewater assets and sewer networks to improve river health. It will upgrade two-thirds of its treatment plants as it battles to cut discharges from combined sewer overflows. Sarah Bentley said the company needed to "speak up, open up and clean up", so targeted work will be included in the interactive CSO map to show customers where improvements are being made.
