Clydebank-based Together Energy has been appointed as the supplier of last resort (SoLR) for the 33,000 customers of One Select.

One Select ceased trading on Monday (10 December), the news followed the supplier coming bottom of the Citizens Advice star ratings table which monitors customer service.

Paul Richards, chief executive of Together Energy, said: “We are determined to secure the best possible arrangement for One Select customers and ensure the transition is as smooth as possible as we recognise the challenging situation they have been placed in.

“Customers will be looked after by our dedicated customer services team; and we pride ourselves on our transparent and easy to understand bills.”

Together Energy’s customer service team will be contacting One Select’s customers to collect meter readings and advise them of their new price tariff which will “remain one of the most competitive in the market”.

The company says it has been working with the regulator over the past 24 hours to agree the best way forward to support customers of One Select.

Philippa Pickford, Ofgem’s director for future retail markets, said: “We are pleased to secure a deal with Together Energy, where One Select’s customers will be offered a competitive tariff for their energy.

“Their credit balances will be honoured and their energy supply will continue as normal.

“Together Energy will be in contact with customers over the coming days with further information.

“Once their account is fully set up, customers can shop around for a better deal if they wish to.”

Together Energy recently revealed several changes to its leadership team.

The Scottish firm, which was founded in 2016 by Paul Richards, has appointed Donald McIntyre as its commercial director, former chief operations director of Future Energy David Stroud as director for strategy and Josh Montgomery as director of trading.
