UK Power Networks was a double winner at the Utility Week Awards 2023, including bagging the coveted Utility of the Year title.
The electricity distribution network also took home the Digital Transformation award at Tuesday’s (5 December) ceremony hosted by Sir Lenny Henry.
Electricity Networks Commissioner Nick Winser, whose report on accelerating the rollout of electricity transmission infrastructure has proved influential with government, was named Industry Champion of the Year.
Stantec also took home two awards, for Built Environment Partner and Utility Partner, as did Power NI, picking up the Customer Experience Award while Emma-Jo McColgan won the Rising Star category.
This year’s awards saw a record number of entries across 16 categories (two of which were split between utility and non-utility).
Utility Week editor and chair of the judges James Wallin said: “It is one of the highlights of the year to be able to recognise the fantastic achievements of the teams and individuals working tirelessly to keep the electricity, gas and water flowing around the UK. This year posed a real challenge for our judges, given the quality of entries. I’d like to congratulate all our winners and our finalists and I look forward to seeing how plans have progressed in next year’s applications.”
