A survey by a recruitment firm suggests that utility company bosses and executives aren't in it for the money, but the love of it. What is more, over half of industry leaders polled believe their employees find them inspiring and love working for them.
But a quarter of the sector feels underpaid and 10 per cent said they were looking for a new job.
Around a fifth of 1,000 utility managers and executives polled by Wickland Westcott were refreshingly frank. They admitted to just making do with their job because of limited options in a tough economic climate.
