Utility Week Live launches at Birmingham NEC

Faversham House, the publisher of Utility Week, has announced the launch of Utility Week Live, a new event taking place from 21 to 23 April 2015 at the NEC, Birmingham.

The show will include a keynote conference, with leading names from outside the sector including John Lewis and dunnhumby. The strategic conference, themed “outside in”, will draw on the experience of other sectors that have faced major changes in infrastructure, technology and customer service.

Senior representatives in utilities will also deliver talks at the event, with the chief executives of Western Power Distribution, Northern Gas Networks, UK Power Networks, Wessex Water and Electricity North West confirmed, together with regulators Ofgem and Ofwat.

The newly launched event from the team behind Utility Week will incorporate IWEX, the long-standing exhibition aimed at UK water companies and their contractors.

Around 3,000 visitors are expected, plus more than 150 exhibitors and 130 speakers. In addition to the keynote conference, there will be three technical seminar theatres.

Amanda Barnes, publisher of Utility Week magazine and Faversham House chief executive, said: “Utility Week Live incorporating IWEX has been created based on feedback from the industry and the need for a dedicated event focused on the UK’s world-leading water, electricity and gas utilities.”

Barnes continued: “We already run the industry’s authoritative media brand for the utility sector, namely Utility Week, as well as water titles Water & Wastewater Treatment (WWT) and WET News, so it made perfect sense to incorporate our existing event IWEX and create this new event dedicated to UK utilities and networks.  It will offer those working in utilities and their contractors the chance to learn and exchange cutting-edge ideas on the strategic, operational and technical side of their businesses.  Visitors will meet peers, partners and suppliers and gain invaluable knowledge from industry leaders in the CPD accredited live content programmes and associated networking initiatives.”

The Utility Week Live incorporating IWEX exhibition and technical seminars are free to attend, with paid tickets available shortly for the keynote conference.  For more information please visit www.utilityweeklive.co.uk
