UU warns of hefty investment needs to end use of CSOs

The outgoing boss of United Utilities has warned that much more investment will be needed to end the use of combined sewer overflows (CSOs) in the north of England than in other parts of the country. Chief executive Steve Mogford, who is due to retire early next year, made the comments during a presentation on the company’s interim financial results for the six months to the end of September.
