Ofwat is modifying licence conditions of six water companies to enable them to make use of alternative financing approaches to get major infrastructure schemes built faster. Under the change companies will be able to utilise direct procurement for customers (DPC) for schemes over £200 million that can be delivered at better value to consumers outside of the price control process.
