Water industry demands ‘swift’ policy changes to accelerate river clean-up efforts

Water UK has called on government to "swiftly" enact policies it previously announced including banning plastic wet wipes, ending operator self-monitoring and the right for property developers to automatically connect to sewer networks. It said these actions, and seven others, would speed up efforts by the water sector to improve river water quality at no extra cost to taxpayers.
