Water minister dodges social tariff and wet wipe commitments

Water minister Rebecca Pow was unable to tell Peers what Defra's position on water affordability concerns will be beyond a standardisation of existing water company support. Quizzed by the House of Lords on a single social tariff, she offered little assurance that action was in train. Similarly a ban on plastics in wet wipes that Defra had promised is yet to be given a timeframe of action, Pow admitted.
