Water retailer Wave has laid out plans to expand substantially in Scotland.
The company has moved its billing function for Scottish customers to new premises at Ocean Point in Leith, and taken on eight new employees.
It has also recruited a business development manager, Mark Carroll, who is responsible for growing the industrial and commercial customer base in Scotland.
Wave supplies water and wastewater services to more than 300,000 businesses across the UK. It also supplies 175 public bodies in Scotland under the Scottish government contract for water and wastewater billing services.
Under this contract, the company claimed it has delivered more than £3 million in annualised public sector savings, significantly reducing the carbon footprint of these organisations.
Wave director of public sector customers Tony March, said: “We’re delighted to announce these new appointments and the move of our expanded team to Ocean Point. Growing our dedicated support function is part of an ongoing commitment to delivering the best service we can to our customers.
“When we signed the Scottish Business Pledge, we made a commitment to supporting economic growth in Scotland. We’re very pleased to be delivering on this promise with the creation of new jobs at Wave.
“Building on our experience of driving millions of pounds of savings through water efficiencies in the public sector, our expertise means we have a lot to offer any business that is looking to reduce costs and achieve better sustainability.”
