Fears that the financial turmoil of Thames could put water retailers at risk have been raised. Water Retail Company chief executive Jacob Tompkins told Utility Week that while the problem is not new, the current situation highlights the "absurd" position retailers are in to post credit for wholesalers with worse credit ratings than themselves.
