Wave signs water retail contract with Sports Direct

Wave has won a three-year contract to supply water retail services to Sports Direct – the UK’s largest sporting goods retailer.

Sports Direct has chosen Wave to provide water and wastewater services to all its sites in England, in addition to the Scottish portfolio.

The new deal means Wave will now manage over 500 sites for the international retail company.

Sports Direct head of global leasehold properties James France said: “Wave has delivered an excellent service to our business in Scotland for over two years. We wanted to move our water services to one retailer in England and, given our previous experience of working with Wave, we’re certain we have a consistent, reliable supplier that we can trust to drive further efficiencies.

“Having successfully driven down our water usage and lowered our charges in Scotland, we’re confident the team at Wave can achieve further water and cost savings across our English portfolio.”

As well as Sports Direct, Wave has also recently secured contracts with a range of national brands, including Travelodge, one of the UK’s largest hotel chains; leading premium bar chain, Revolution Bars Group; as well as leading commercial property company, Workspace.

Wave provides water and wastewater services to around 300,000 businesses across the UK, as well as supplying all of the Scottish public sector.
