Wheelie bins reborn as water butts in Bristol

Bristol Water is giving old wheelie bins a fresh lease of life as water butts.

On Saturday, the water company provided 700 taps to install in the bins, which were made redundant when Bristol’s waste contractor May Gurney introduced new recycling practices.

The initiative, supported by Bristol City Council, will help allotment holders and private gardeners harvest rainwater.
