Firmus Energy is the latest Northern Irish supplier to cut gas prices, making a cut of 9.75 per cent to its standard gas tariff.
The announcement follows SSE Airtricity which cut its gas tariff last week by 10.2 per cent.
The reduced price will be effective from 1 April 2016 and apply to around 50,000 domestic, industrial and commercial customers in the Greater Belfast licensed area.
Firmus Energy managing director Michael Scott said: “We have more than 50,000 customers in the greater Belfast area and continually strive to keep our natural gas prices as low and as stable as possible for our customers.
“Along with our excellent customer service we have consistently offered the lowest tariff prices for domestic customers over the last number of years and are delighted that this will continue.”
The company is also set to make an announcement about its gas tariffs in the licensed area known as the ‘Ten Towns’ in the next few days.
